This Wildly Hyped App Is Universally Despised with Numbers That Are Artificially Inflated
Who hasn’t played an online game, such as Duolingo or Archero, and been accosted by ads for the despicable Royal Match game? Dream Games, the Istanbul-based creator of Royal Match, was founded in 2019 and has raised upwards of $468 million in investments, with a current value of $2.75 BILLION. Supposedly, it has made more than $1.1 billion and has been downloaded more than 180 million times.
However, with reported monthly active users of 5.3 million in 2022 and 13 million in 2023, Reddit users report that the game is full of bots, and the ads alone produce cringe in most casual observers. The Dream Games company spends millions on advertising, and reviews are mostly dire, such as this one from Common Sense Media:
